Many of the paintings and drawings I produce are commissioned, often as a gift for a loved one or to commemorate a special occasion like a wedding, a retirement, an anniversary or a birthday. It is also quite common for people to commission paintings for themselves.
Previous commissions have included celebrity portraits, vintage toys, cars and pet portraits. Please see below for a few examples of my previous commissions.
The commissioning process begins with an e-mail or phone call to me.
Once the conversation begins we can talk about your painting in more detail. If you see something on here that you would like and the original has already been sold, I will do my best to paint it again, but realistically no two paintings are ever the same.
A deposit of 30% is required before painting commences.
Price depends on the size of the required painting, if it’s a portrait then how many people are to be included and whether it is a full portrait or just head and shoulders is also taken into consideration. If you email me I can give you a rough guide to pricing.
For portrait commissions I prefer to work from a photograph, preferable digital and in Jpeg format. I can take my own photographs if you do not have anything suitable, at no extra cost. If it is a toy painting you require and you have the original toy, maybe your favourite lego piece or a vintage toy, I can also take photographs to work from.
Time scale will depend on the size of your painting and the amount of detail involved. Please allow up to 8 weeks for completion once the painting has been started. Small pieces may only take up to 3-4 weeks. On completion, I will e-mail you an image of the finished painting for your final approval.
All completed work will be sent using registered postage or couriered, which ever you prefer. Please be aware that the shipping cost, and insurance, is in addition to the cost of the commission itself. I will be able to provide an indication of the cost of the shipping/insurance before any work gets started.
